Milk Bag Project

Milk bags, an essential part of daily household waste in most families, choke our city waterways, drains and nullahs. With their easy penetrability into waterways, they cause extreme damage to marine life. With an endeavour to stop these bags from reaching our water bodies, Garbage Free India started the ‘Milk Bag Project’ in Mumbai along with Hansu Pardiwala Clean Mumbai Foundation, in the month of May.

“Zero Waste” Community Intervention- Sadiq Nagar, Delhi

Simultaneously, a pilot project was launched in Sadiq Nagar, a residential community of low to middle income central government employees. GFI partnered with the local Municipal Counselor to introduce residents to the practice of segregating household waste.

“Zero Waste” Community Intervention- CPRA, Mumbai

A pilot project was launched in Cuffe Parade in October 2017, in partnership with the Cuffe Parade Residents’ Association to concept test “zero waste communities” in high income residential neighborhoods.

“Waste To Energy Conversion” Intervention – Cygnus School, Baroda

A pilot project was launched at Cygnus School Baroda, to test the concept of waste to energy conversion of the organic waste generated by their school canteen.

Colours with A Purpose

In August, 2019, Garbage free India launched its flagship school based program ‘Colours with a Purpose’ in Kolkata at Purushottam Bhagchandka Academic School.
